I've just tried this on a N++ without the fileswitcher installed, and it works
- so it is a bug in fileswitcher and not N++. This is very strange - something
I'm doing on buffer switch event is messing with the selection and current
scroll
point. I'm going off to a cave now to investigate.
My suspicion is that it's something to do with the way that the read-only is
checked, but this is going to take some investigation.
Cheers,
Dave.

Tip: reply to a message by first clicking to its header (hyperlink). If the
text above the subject line above reads "Post a followup to this message", then
your reply will be indented. This makes the thread easier to be read.
I wanted to reply that it must be something in the File Switcher, but not in
all versions! Surely, it could be something with checking out the file status.
But I have 0.6 installed at home and I have no problems switching documents.
Perhaps you could simply look at the changes between 0.6 and 1.0, as it is
already
that version which goes wrong.

Hi all,
I've been using N++ for about 1 year. I use N++ 6hrs/a day so any plugin makes
it easier and faster to use N++ that plugin saves my life.
Everyday I convert many hard copy PDF files to formatted text files. I must
change the italic to $I start-tag and $N end-tag; the bold to $=B and $=R, the
underline to $U and $O.... Then, I must to check the spelling and correct
mistakes.
Using N++, I find and mark all the tags and look through all of them. It takes
me so long to do this.
Today, I happen to know I can define my own language. I've define one but I
got some problems.
1. I don't know how to make the userDefineLanguage.xml with the tags same to
html tags. For example, <i> and </i> same to $I and $N, and
so on. Using N++ all the html tags will be high-lighted.
2. There is not "Subfix mode" option in the "Keyword Lists" tab so all of my
end-tags cannot be high-lighted.
Please help me!
P/s: I'm sorry for my poor English.

Well, I've got the same problem with my Notepad++. You're lucky, you know...
When I'm trying to open such a file, my notepad opens all the files which I've
ever open. It is such a mess.. :(
Version of my notepad is 5.3.1
I think it is a bug.
Regards, Dmitriy

After reading ur prob, i think u r doing data conversion job. Notepad++ is
really
very good application. But ur work can be done more easily and fastly in
microsoft
word, as i also deal with data conversion.
Other option
Instead of using userdefined lang, u can use plugin named "Webedit" of
Notepad++,
which is easily configurable as per ur need for tagging.

I am using Notepad++ with SierraCharts and when I click the Help question mark
in Notepad++ and click on "Help content" I get an error msg that NppHelp.chm
is missing and to download it from the Notepad ++ site. But when I do a search
on "NppHelp.chm" in the sourceforge.com website, the search does not find
anything.
I have done an advanced search of my entire hard drive including hidden
files and folders for the file NppHelp.chm, but the search does not find
anything.
I have downloaded NppExe from the download page:
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm
but that didn't do anything to solve the problem. I have searched the web for
the file NppHelp.chm and not found a solution to my problem.
If anyone knows how to help me, I'd appreciated it.

I guess a "chm" file, a file with the extension ".chm" is some sort of help
file. I did find, and download a Notepad++ help file with a .chm extension,
and then I put it in the directory that the error msg was calling for, and I
changed the name to the name that the error msg was calling for and when I click
the question mark and the help content, I get an a help page with an outline,
but then when I click on a subject there is an error msg that states that the
file cannot be found.
I ended up downloading the .pdf version of the Notepad++ help file, and I
guess I'll browse through the pdf file for help on notepad++
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm
Look for "Offline Help file (User Manual)" heading.

I have a txt document that looks like this:
wwww w
wwww w
aaaaa aaa
aaaaa aaa
aaaaa aaa
bbbb
uuu
uuu
uuu
uuu
I would like the program to do the following:
1. delete duplicate lines and append the original number of duplicate lines
+1 to each line (maybe easier the other way around)
2. sort the lines by the appended number, descending
You could also put the number at the beginning of each line, it doesn't matter.
So the result would look like this:
uuu 4
aaaaa aaa 3
wwww w 2
bbbb 1
Is that possible with notepad++ or with any other freeware program? Thanks.

Thank you for answering me.
All I want here is to mark all the tags. This makes me easy to find mistakes
and mis-spelling words.
If possible, please show me the simple way to do this.
