The day Find in files will be recordable as a macro again, the "down" part will
be easy. Btw, Ctrl+Alt shortens to AltGr on european keyboards.
As for finding where a function is defined, I like the way FunctionList tells
me about it.

Hi Chris it's me again,
I've tried your guide, but the thing is that my user defined custom language
isn't listed within the combo box. is there any way to register my custom
language
into the language list in there?
Thanks

In menuCmdID.h, which ships with the source, but that you can also see here:
http://notepad-plus.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/notepad-plus/trunk/PowerEditor/sr
c/menuCmdID.h?revision=460&view=markup
But you can usually do without the ids normally.

The "latest version" hasn't been updated on the server. I think this is done
when the latest release has had some time to bed in, and receive feedback,
i.e. when the 5.4 strain is considered stable. You can always download the
5.4.5 install package or zipped release from the sourceforge download area.
Dave.

I'm using Windows 7, Build 7100, with Turkish language pack, and the problem
is on Windows 7. (all the settings are for turkish and Turkey)
Today I tested it on Turkish Windows XP Pro SP2 (in the same, my, computer),
there were no problem.
(Keyboard: Turkish Q).

NppExec ver. 0.3.2 pre-release for testing (Unicode version)
The features to be tested:
+ new feature: TAB autocompletes file paths (in the Console)
(* thanks to ILme for initial implementation)
+ new feature: Shift+Tab (in the Console, the same as TAB but backwards)
- fixed: 'cd \path', 'dir \path' did not jump to the root of current
drive
- fixed: on-exit script was not executed
If you want to test this version, you can download it here:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2824919&group_id=189927&atid=931291
Please report about the problems if any.

Is there a way to insert a custom text using a shortcuts?
For example set CTRL+B to insert "<b>" tag and CTRL+N for "</b>"

I am trying to switch from Textpad to Notepad++ and have hit a wall...
I want to simply replace the start of the line (^) with something else. In
Textpad I could just put in ^ as the regular expression, and it would add my
replacement to the start of each line.
In Notepad++ I can't figure out how to insert text at the start of the line
using the "^" - I've only seen examples like "^." which replaces the 1st
character
of the line with my replacement - but I want to retain the 1st character.

In my continuing migration from Textpad, I have another problem:
When inserting data in multiple lines NP++ currently moves directly down from
the current cursor position when I press the down arrow:
..X.............
...X............
....X...........
.....X..........
......X.........
.......X........
........X.......
.........X......
..........X.....
...........X....
............X...
What I'd like to do is be able to move down after inserting the X and be in
the same column position as I was previously - Textpad works like this and
is very handy to quickly modifying rows of data.
..X.............
..X.............
..X.............
..X.............
..X.............
..X.............
..X.............
..X.............
..X.............
..X.............
..X.............
