I'll wait until there are specific ones for Win7, so that it doesn't screw up
the Win7 "half-maximize" shortcuts that are so handy. In the meantime, some
other editors including Dreamweaver don't display this behavior, so I guess
I'll have to drop NP++ for long coding sessions until I find a fix.

You can make a feature request on IdeaTorrent to optionally save the window
coordinates of Notepad++ in the session file (for example).

What about Search "Alice" Find all in current ocument, and then navigate using
F4/Shift+F4, or whatever you remap these to? You can close the Results window
if it bothers you.
Or use Find All instead with the LMark lines option. This drops a bookmark on
any line Alice appears. Then use F2/Shift+F2 to navigate - again, nothing
prevents
you to change these keys.
How are these different?
When dealing with multiple files, , "before" and "after" become fuzzy, because
how are you telling which file is before which one?

Ask for an auto-scroller on IdeaTorrent, I'll +1 it.

Hello guys.
I searched for this info and wasn't able to find anything about it.
What I wanted is some way to define custom folding areas, as is done on Eclipse
or NetBeans.
I'd like to create blocks with many function inside, and instead of collapsing
each function separtely, be able to collapse the whole block together. It makes
easier to browse big source files.
Any idea if it is possible?

Just tested under Traditional Chinese xp, with v5.4.5 Unicode. Works for me.
Does anyone have the same issue?

Hey Jeff,
I had the same problem until I realized that the auto-updater was enabled in
the preferences. The auto-updater is basically like an installer, so UAC says
that you need admin rights to run the updater. I suggest turning off the
auto-update
feature until the dev has time to split the "is an update available" part from
the "install the update to Program Files" part. That way the UAC prompt would
only come when you click "Update now".

Hi all,
Plugin Manager 0.9 has just been released. Of course, if you're already using
it, you'll probably already know that, and have probably already updated :)
The main change is support for plugins that are installed multiple times, but
there are a number of other improvements. It's wise to update the Plugin
Manager
before installing or updating any other plugins, as the XML has changed a bit
so some plugins won't install properly with 0.8. The new version will warn
you if you don't update, but unfortunately that wasn't there in 0.8.
Documentation and more info is on http://www.brotherstone.co.uk/npp/pm/
Changes:
- Plugins that are installed multiple times are now supported, and can be
updated
individually
- The updater (gpup.exe) now shows a progress bar, useful feedback if you've
installed or updated a lot of plugins
- User will be presented with a warning if there is an update to the plugin
manager that they haven't taken - it's always best to update the plugin manager
first, then install or update other plugins
- Rework of the variable handling in the XML - all variables are now processed
at install time
- New variable available, $PLUGINFILENAME$, which is (unsurprisingly) the
filename
of the installed plugin
- Copy now supports a "toFile" attribute, which copies to a filename rather
than a directory
- Added facility in XML to set the name of an unknown plugin based on a hash
value - so a plugin that returns a dynamic name can still be supported (the
dynamic name will still be shown in the list to the user however, but install
and update will be possible)
- The user-agent header for all downloads now contains the version number of
the plugin manager
- Fixed an issue if the user said no to restarting after removing plugins
Enjoy, and please let me know your feedback.
Any issues, please report them here.
Thanks,
Dave.

(Away at the time of the replies)
To clear any misunderstanding I didn't ask about Notepad++ localisation itself,
only about the file under editing at the time.
Chris answered my initial post in his first reply about the way Notepad++ can
cope with different ANSI encoded files but that was my question/possible
proposal/feature for an easy way to change the encodings instead of going
through
the options and Global styles.
Chris, is it possible to have a similar to Firefox "on-the-fly" way of changing
it?
Thanks again.

Hi
Um I'm not sure where this "follow doc" checkbox is you talk about. There
is no such thing in the "find in files" dialogue v5.3.1.
My point was it extremely frustrating that the filter box always changes
depending
on the file type.
I'd love a search all know source files checkbox for example.
