Hi, Dave
Concerning 3/: I completely agree with the rationale for checking the file.
What I agree less with are the false positives. Try upgrading Math Plugin from
v0041 to current (v0046).
We have extensive security at my workplace, for good reasons, and my attempts
to find something wrong with that dll have failed. This is the reason of my
comment - I assumed the plugin simply couldn't be checked.
About 4/: well, my vision on this is that a rollback is the cancelling of a
transaction. So, installing an earlier version of a plugin isn't quite a
rollback.
Just thinking to the scenario where a subsequent version of Quicktext has some
issue. If PM "rolls back" and installs the Vista version of current stage on
a XP system or (pobably worse) vice versa, then letting the user decide looks
to me a better way.

It depends on what sorts of sets.
If you mmean sorting on a group of columns, like col. 1-15, then yes, just
select
the rectangle based on them.
If you mean several groups of consecutive columns, then you can do it by sorting
on the ineer key first, then the key above and so forth. So, to sort by group
1, then by goup 2, then by group3, you should first sort according to group3,
then to group2, then to group1.
Sorting on the aggregate value of disconnected sets of columns is just a special
case of the above.

CChris,
I'll check the math plugin. Obviously creating the MD5's has been manual,
as has creating the XML, which took a large part of the development time. It
is perfectly possible that an MD5 has been missed in the official list. If
there is no response from the server, then the same message is presented to
the user. Perhaps that should be a different message -"It has not been possible
to contact the validation server to validate a file being copied" or something
similar.
Regarding rollback, perhaps the first stage is to be able to go back to any
plugin you've had installed, and installed over the top of. The second stage
would be to be able to install an older version, and I can see a reason for
wanting to do both.
Thanks for putting your distrust of auto-updaters aside for long enough to try
this out. Gauging the importance of features is something I can only do with
feedback like this.
Thanks again,
Dave.

What is this?
If you can import your map into shortcuts.xml, keeping the same format, then
you can. Settings the mapings manually from Shortcut Mapper is probably more
tedious, but requires less skill.

Try getting the instaler off http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/download.php
If some SF mirror breaks, or your internet connection can't cope, then thsi
direct link may help. Size is 2.87Mo (3,018,868 bytes).

In View -> Show symbol submenu, disable all checked options. The CR/LF pair
has to be in the file, I assume, but you won't see it.
Unless your problem is different?

Obviously you are using built-in languages which would be hard to emulete using
an UDL (user defined language). The solution I have only works for UDLs. Here
is a link: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/notepad-plus/index.php?title=Us
er_Defined_Languages
For builtin languages, you can add keywords to some classes, but cannot make
them in to folding points.
I thnk you should post your request on IdeaTorrent, hopefully someone implements
it and the patch makes it to release code.

Does this happen with the -noPlugin command switch? Or renaming the Plugins
folder?
Is "garbage" some unexpected control characters?
Are you sure you are viewing text files with a font that can cope with 8-bit
ASCII as intended by file creator?
Any idea of a version change which seemingly started this?

Did you consider Settings -> Preferences -> Global, Tab bar, Mulltiline ?
The position of the arrows is the Windows standard. Developing a custom control
just for putting the left arrow on the left is probably a large effort and
likely
source of bugs - is it worth the risk?
An option to crop the file name to a fixed length could be good, post that on
IdeaTorrent.
