I've made several screenshots:

There I've used only TABs and no SPACEs.

Try renaming the plugins directory to say "lugins", and see if crashes still
occur.
If they still do, please report the bug on the bug tracker, I can't remember
seeing it mentioned. Crashes on save yes, but not on delete.
If they ddon't, then rename it back. Then, for each plugin in it, rename the
.dll as .dl and try again. You'll find the culprit soon this way hopefully.
Then please report your findings here.
CChris

Well I got word back from the scintilla dev...he admits the feature would be
useful...but thinks its more effort then its worth so he won't be implementing
it :(
I'm not sure what ideatorrent is...but I guess its the only hope I have left.

Yes, I know NP++ is not available for linux.
Yes, I know there is alot of free editor under linux.
Yes, I know about Wine; no it's not a good solution.
Yes, I'm that obstinated: I need N++ under linux.
Many people ask for a linux port for a couple of years.
I know it's not an easy job.
But if a couple of us would make a money pot, would it be possible to hire
someone
to do it ?
*********
I've tried
scite, gedit, screem, phpedit, kate, bluefish, nothing make me happy :(

Should I file the bug in SourceForge? I found no place to that effect, did I
forget to check somewhere?
Thanks,

There appears to be a couple things that are not possible with User Defined
Languages, as far as I can tell.
1-) Unable to customize what is or is not a Number, ie: -100 will not get
hilighted,
nor 0x01
2a) Unable to customize a highlight for Strings, i.e. "Foo", or 'foo',
2b) You can _approximate_ this with a keyword: ", and [x] Prefix mode, but since
you likely need to use ( ) as an Activated Operator, then when a bracket is
encountered after a quote, the hilight will stop. As well when a space is
encountered
i.e. "Foo Bar", then the hilight stops.
3) Multiline Coments: /* */ multiline comment seems to be broken completely,
in UserDefined Lang's and others like C. Notepad++ frequently fails to recognize
when to stop colorizing text as a comment, and will continue coloring all the
way to the end of the file as Green (comment). Even after a valid stop */ is
encountered.
As well NotePad++ believes a string that contains ".*/" is a stop comment
hilight.
4) Single Line Comment: When using single line comment character, such as ";"
Notepad++ will fail to recognize that: ";foobar" is a comment, you must use
a space, "; foobar"
You are unable to use the same character twice, i.e. you cannot do:
";" and ";;" as 2 types of Single Line Comment. NotePad++ will only recognize
one of them.
The inability to define strings, with spaces in them, and to have NotePad++
ignore "/*" "*/" when contained within a string really limits the User Defined
Language settings.
The number issue, makes the hilighter perform so oddly as to just not use that
setting as is.
I am new to NotePad++, if any of these are fixable with an .xml or .ini change,
I'd love to know.

Hello,
I wanted to report this as well.
I'm also on Vista and on Notepad version 5.4.5! It happens at random times since
I upgraded from Notepad version 4.3 or something like that.
Apart from that, Notepad is great and I have been using it for a long time
without
a single crash before this.
I hope this can be fixed somehow.
Thanks,
Robin

Hello there, I'm a newbie but I'd be really happy if I could turn this simple
HTML file into a clear XML file. Because I have something like 300 pages, I
want to automate them with InDesign instead of manually doing the work.
I believe there's a way but I can find it easier if you can enlighten me about
it.
So here's the deal, in the text file, the content is exactly like this;
Parabolia, 2008, some text here, 40 x 56 cm., Another content /*br
goes here.
Every comma refers to another content except "some text here, 40 x 56 cm.".
So it would basically be like this if I'd manually turn it into an XML;
<title>Parabolia</title>
<year>2008</year>
<textandsize>some text here, 40 x 56 cm.</textandsize>
<collection>Another content goes here.</collection>
Sorry if this one is a silly question but I hope you got the point, and I'd
be glad if you help me.
Thank you (:

I don't think this is the right forum for this, but anyway? Since it is a
Notepad++ (not an InDesign) forum, here is how to do something like that in
Notepad++.
First remove extra line-brakes so each entry is on one line: do a Replace all,
in "Extended" mode, to replace "<br>\r\n" (if your file has Windows format end
of lines) by nothing.
Then change your coma separated lines in XML: do a Replace all, in "Regular
expression" mode, to replace " ([^,]*),([^,]*),([^,]*),([^,]*),(.*)" by
"<title>\1</title>\n<year>\2</year>\n<textandsize>\3,\4</textandsize>\n<collecti
on>\5</collection>"
If you are a newbie, I'll explain a bit the last replace. "[^,]" means any
character except a coma, and the "*" means as many occurrences as possible.
The text found by each part in parenthesis is later referenced by \1 \2 etc.
And "." means any character (not end of lines).
