LOVE NP++. Am converting to it after using Ultra Edit for many years. I use
Microsoft Visual Source Safe. When I configure it to open NP++ and choose to
open a file from VSS when NP++ is not opened, NP++ opens properly with the
requested
file. If I leave NP++ opened, go back to VSS to open another file, the second
file will not open. It looks like NP++ is not recognizing a call to open a
file when it is already opened.

Hello, I have a problem conserning the FTP_synchronize plugin.
When I have the notepad++ window on my secondary monitor I can't double click
or right-click in the folder-tree. But when I move the window to the primary
monitor it's no problem.
Does anybody know why this is or/and how to fix this?

Hi,
Besides using NP++ as a great substitution of notepad.exe to view text files
on Windows I also use it as log file viewer for a telnet client (putty).
The problem is that lines are coming with NULL characters and NP++ shows it
as NUL in white foreground color and black background color and also inserts
a blank line right after the NUL character. As a result log is quite
unreadable.
I looked for option which will allow me to disable such behavior but didn't
find one.
Please advise.

I can convert to UTF-8 Without BOM using NP++ (one file ,one file) , I want
tool to convert all open files to UTF-8 without BOM or tool search in folder
and replace all php files to utf-8 without BOM

Hi I have managed to include quite a few chm help files in notepad++ with
success.
Select the searched function then ALt+F key and you get direct help.
I encounter soem difficulties with phpmanual chm as the html files are not named
directly after the function name i.e for example function with underscore pages
such as file_get_contents are named file-get-contents in the command.
How can I replace the underscore by - in
function.$(CURRENT_WORD).html
Is possible to apply regEx or other on $(CURRENT_WORD) ???

Hi, i am new to np++, but i find it quite usefull.
The only thing i find boring, is the shortcut for document switching (actually,
i have find "ctrl-tab" to switch to the next document.
I was wandering if there is a faster way to do it.
also, I am thinking to the mozzilla system, where you can directly go to you
onglet by clicking "ctrl-1" for the 1st, "ctrl-2" for the second ....
Where can we ask them for something like that ?
I made a quick search, and didn't find any "feedback" that can be sent
to developper.

In all honnesty, I don't see N++ being ported to Linux ever. You might say it's
"only" a few hundred API calls and such, but you've clearly not taken into
account
all the messages that are being treated in almost all classes.
Let's face it, N++ is a Win32 wrapper providing a more user friendly interface
to Scintilla.
IMO, if you want N++ on Linux, you're better to start with SciTE on Linux and
recode the functionalities one by one. This is probably be much faster than
trying to "port" N++ per say.
Another option would be to recode it with Qt, that way it would be portable
on all platforms. FYI, there's already a Qt component that wraps scintilla
controls:
