The fix 2 posts before this is corerct. It is the same fix described by the
plugin author in e-mail from him. He said he will add a readme file to the
next release.

I remember reading that N++ suggests/requires a minimum of 1024x768 screen
resolution. This is what I use and I have seen this before. As said, just dock
it to fix this issue. This is one reason I stopped using this screen personally.
This has been a problem for a long time, so it's no longer a bug, but a feature
:)

Hi, I spent a good chunk of this morning googling this problem and I can't find
an answer anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated!!!
The problem is this:
-I open N++.
-Open Style Configurator.
-Modify a style (Plastic Code Wrap for example).
-Save & Close Style Configurator
-After editing files, I then close N++.
-Then reopen N++.
-N++ shows the selected style (Plastic Code Wrap), but it doesn't include any
of the changes I made in my previous session.
This has happened several times now and I don't have a clue why. I tried looking
through all the temp folders and appdata folders to find where N++ stores my
current style config while the program is open so maybe I can manually cut &
paste the data into the standard file it loads on start, but I found nothing.
All the files I found would not change if I changed something in N++ S.C.. I
would open up the Plastic Code Wrap XML file and edit all the HEX colors
manually,
but it's a pain to do that because N++ only shows the RGB numbers through the
windows dialog and It will just take a long time...
Please tell me why it doesn't work or what I'm doing wrong? What good is "Save
& Close" if it only saves for that session?
I'm running Windows 7 RC build 7100 if that helps at all.
Thanks to everyone for any information!!!

I work in the NC programming world and need support of a particular format for
the opening and closing of folders. Every 'method' in our code starts with
a "O" followed by a numerical value, i.e.
O8900. I cannot use the simplistic prefix mode as the numerical value changes
with each 'method'.
Every folder closes with M99, so that is simple enough to handle.
Any ideas on how to modify the xml or xsd so that it would support a prefix
of "O" followed by a numerical value?
Regards,
Jeremy

Ask for it on IdeaTorrent, but this is by no means trivial. Perhaps a plugin
would be the best solution to address this need, and it could handle any
printing
customisation, having to handle all of the formatting. See the documentation
on the SCI_FORMATRANGE Scintilla message if you are curious.

My gut feeling is that your settings are saved on a different account than the
one you expect. Does disablin UAC help? If so, then tricking Windows 7 via a
launch using Run as... will help. Another possibility is that Notepad++ attempts
to write to %APPDATA% and Win 7 blocks that. Try putting all the configuration
besides Notepad++.exe perhaps.
Nort tested, my XP machine still works :-)

Another case where being abke to define keywords by regular expressions would
help. Not triial at all, but I see how I could try to implement it. Perhaps
some day I get serious about it.
CChris
Basically, the idea is to store all regexp keywords in properties rather than
keyword lists, keeping the actual keywor list in property names. Could be fun.

Thanks SO MUCH!!! I don't know why I didn't try it (blinded by frustration I
guess), but THANK YOU!!!
The "Run-as Administrator" worked perfect! There is even a setting where you
can permanently have a shortcut R/A/Admin. I also turned off UAC, but I don't
think that affected anything.
Thanks Again!

I just sent an email to the maintainer of the plugin:
[quote]
Hi,
I am writing because I was wondering if I could possibly get an update from
you regarding the future development and bug fixes for your FTP Synchronize
plugin for np++. I use this religiously because I feel notepad++ offers me a
superior set of tools I need as a php developer. Unfortunately, the stability
of the FTP plugin has been pretty bad and causes me quite a few interruptions
throughout my work day. I have already tried switching to phpDesigner as
a replacement but had to come back since there is no way to make their FTP
module
save copies of the ftp files locally - The concept design of your system is
far superior to theirs, its just not stable.
So here I sit, stuck with a great piece of software that crashes on me
constantly.
So what I, and others would like to know is:
- Are you aware of theses issues?
- Are you planning on fixing them?
- If not, how do we go about getting someone else to pick up the project?
- If you are, is it possible to get some sort of road map / schedule / eta on
these stability fixes?
- Realistically how much time a week can/do you put in to this? (just an honest
question so I can gauge on my own when to expect fixes)
There is a thread going in the plugin discussion forum with more information
my findings specifically:
https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=3361649&forum_id=482781
I don't want to come off as 'complaining' I really do appreciate the hard work
you have put in on this and we all know you aren't getting paid for it. I would
just like to end this email with a Thank You, for giving us what we do have
to work with.
Thanks,
Rick
