So this iterator shouldn't respect the interface's contract because there's a 
particular consumer that might want it to behave differently?  It seems like 
the scenario you describe would be better handled by having MultiIterator not 
pass its CFs through into the inner seek (perhaps optionally), so it can do the 
filter in one pass higher up in cases where that would be more efficient.
