Keith Turner commented on ACCUMULO-1772: ---------------------------------------- I think its needed for 1.6.0. I am thinking if someone uses multiple namenodes they will eventually need this utility. I do not think we should offer admins only the ability to add namenodes. We should offer the ability to add and decommission namenodes. I also think the capability should be in place and tested before anyone ever needs it. Otherwise at some point someone may be forced to quickly hack something together. > Need utility to decommission dfs uris > ------------------------------------- > > Key: ACCUMULO-1772 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ACCUMULO-1772 > Project: Accumulo > Issue Type: Sub-task > Components: master, tserver > Reporter: Keith Turner > Fix For: 1.6.0 > > > Need to support situation where a user would like to decommission one uri in > instance.volumes. After decommissioning, Accumulo would no longer create > files there. However it would still reference files created there in the > past. > One way to support this is to have tablet check their configured uri is still > in the config. This could be done at tablet load time or even at compaction > time. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.1#6144)
