   * Rename Reference to ReferenceFile and make it implement a Reference 
interface
   to be used to stream both files and directories
   * Create the AllVolumesDirectory class, which extends ReferenceDirectory, to 
be used
   for the new special encoded "agcav" volume.
   * Comment and clean up GC code
