**Describe the bug**
#4452 introduced a new `estimateOverlappingEntries` method to
`FileSKVIterator`. It appears at least one of these implementations was
throwing an `UnsupportedOperationException` when it shouldn't have (PR #5518
for issue #5517). Need to investigate the other implementations and determine
if any others are throwing `UnsupportedOperationException` when they shouldn't.
