It might be beneficial even to make sure that the condition we are waiting for is not true before the compaction starts (`assertTrue(compactions == null || compactions.isEmpty());`) just in case there is any state left over from another test accidentally, we can catch that and ensure the condition we are waiting for is not already true. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
