I don't know if the Calendar/TimeZone parameters of LayoutPreservingProperties deserve a constructor, it gives a lot of importance to the formatting of a comment. Maybe a setter would do the job. Regarding the changelog, I didn't understand immediately the implication of "but only if jdkproperties is false". I thought jdkproperties had to be set explicitly to false to make the build reproducible, but it seems to be the default actually.
