While the work is very active on CouchDB 2.0, the 1.x.x branch has been
accumulating many bug fixes (including building on Erlang OTP 18) since 1.6.1
for months.
CouchDB 1.6.1 has been released more than one year ago, and several users have
been using manually patched versions of CouchDB to include some of those bug
fixes. It would be great to release CouchDB 1.7.0 with the fixes in the 1.x.x
branch.
