marcinrozanski commented on issue #1053: couchup returns with unauthorized URL: https://github.com/apache/couchdb/issues/1053#issuecomment-358700688 I had the same problem, the following worked for me. /opt/couchdb/bin/couchup replicate -a --login admin --password {ADMIN_PASSWORD} I suggest looking at code of 'couchup' tool for more useful arguments.
