Note that 23.x and 24.x are not yet supported in CouchDB 3, unless you are building from the `3.x` branch directly. For `3.1.1` you cannot go any newer than 22.x. See: https://docs.couchdb.org/en/3.1.1/install/unix.html#installation-from-source for the versions supported at the time `3.1.1` was released.
