Just as an update: 4.2.1 of current couchdb's documentation at https://docs.couchdb.org/en/stable/best-practices/forms.html says: > As CouchDB [no longer recommends the use of CouchDB-hosted web applications](https://docs.couchdb.org/en/stable/ddocs/index.html#indexes) , you may want to use a reverse proxy to expose CouchDB as a subdirectory of your web application.
