Some annotators print "start" and "finish" messages. "Finish" should be
unnecessary except for the fact that some annotators don't have logging at all.
All annotators should have a single "start" message, but no finish message.
This should cut down the logs.
Slow processors should strongly consider making use of the DotLogger. Slow
initializers definitely should use DotLogger.
