Head commit for run: 8c917ae3fd145029560a60457f70e5c09a5da722 / Scott Murphy Heiberg <[email protected]> feat: parse JSON with the application's Jackson mapper when the converter renders as Spring Boot does With grails.converters.json.legacy set to false, JSON.parse and so request.JSON kept Grails' own lenient parser, whose syntax nobody had chosen: single quotes, comments, unquoted values, uppercase literals, trailing commas and new Date(...). They now use the mapper's own parser, so the spring.jackson.parser.* properties decide what is accepted, and strict JSON is the default. What comes back is unchanged: the JSONObject and JSONArray containers with Java nulls, and the number types Grails' parser returned, which JsonMapperSupport.parse reproduces from the parser's tokens. With legacy left true, the default in Grails 9, the Grails parser is used as before, and new JSONObject(String) and new JSONArray(String) always use it.
