Head commit for run: 237bf12e599c40409d0cf90781d5fd4bab8f254c / James Daugherty <[email protected]> Validate with the groups of validation hints, through sequences and shared associations JakartaPersistentEntityValidator is a SmartValidator again, as the adapter it replaced was: PersistentEntityValidator validates with the validation hints Spring's DataBinder and ValidationUtils pass, and an annotated entity validates in the groups among them, cascading with them. A @ConvertGroup conversion applies to the groups the provider validates when a group of the owner is validated, so a sequence an earlier conversion targets is expanded, in its order, before the conversions of a nested association apply, and a group brings the groups it extends. A sequence none of whose groups is converted is passed on as it is, so it still stops at its first group with a violation. An associated instance reached through two associations is validated once with each list of groups it is reached with, instead of once in the groups of the first association. Regressions in PersistentEntityValidatorSpec, JakartaValidatorRegistrySpec and the TCK BeanValidationSpec. The validation guide and upgrade note 89 describe the hints and the expansion of the groups.
