Even though it is not symmetric, it works reliably and NB needs to be able to make modifications to pom files anyway. For example to add a module to an existing NetBeans Application project. So even the archetype based project generation does have a second stage which is not archetype based already. Another advantage is that we can easily change the code and it will show up in the next NB release, while we have to release the archetypes separately, which makes changes there a two step operation. > I just compiled netbeans locally for the first time, I will play around, may be able to make the change myself.
