We are closing this SIP and will be opening a new one to reflect a new direction that was established during discussions. But in summary: - WebSockets will remain as is, polling will be removed - A new framework for async tasks will be introduced, and GAQ, Alerts & Reports, SQL Lab async queries and Thumbnails will be moved to that framework so we have a single mechanism for managing async tasks. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
