GitHub user Facyla created a discussion: Implement custom formatting similar to Table Chart into Country Map plugin
Hi dear Superset community members, We are starting working on implementing features that are similar to Table Chart's Conditional Formatting features into Country Map plugin. I'm advertising this here now -2 days before a few weeks off to recharge batteries- so we have the opportunity to identify and synchronize efforts towards this direction, and to be aware of any related topic, while getting familiar with the community rules of the project. For now, the plan is to base the new feature development on the latest Country Map plugin version for version 5.0.0 https://github.com/apache/superset/tree/master/superset-frontend/plugins/legacy-plugin-chart-country-map The idea is to enable custom colors and intervals to customize the rendering of the map, that goes beyond the Linear Color Schemes. E.g. one could define that a specific interval should be painted using a specific color (thus the idea to build something similar to Table Chart Custom Formatting), or define custom ranges and associated colors - as an override of the linear color sets. Basically, we think that the conditional formatting features would match our needs, but would also enable going further and give editors more control on their map's final rendering. We will also be interested into pointers to upcoming changes that would impact the plugins in upcoming versions. I won't be very available the next 3 weeks, but will be very attentive to any discussions here as soon as i'm back on tracks. Wishing you a great summer, i'll be pleased to discuss these topics with you!
