GitHub user richardcrist created a discussion: User Timezone Selection
Add a user selection as part of profile to set timezone. On dashboard any time range type of filter would honor the selected time zone. Currently, I am in Central time zone but our Superset server and application (appropriately) use UTC time zone. All our dates in table data are also stored in UTC. Currently if user selects "current day" in time range filter, then at 7pm Central time it changes selected date from my current date to my next day date. If there was a time zone selector then the time range filter would honor it and "current day" would remain my current day date until midnight my time zone. Other relative time range filter methods like "last" and "now" would also honor the selected time zone. With Superset user time zone selector, user could set their time zone, then time range filter would allow them to select date range in their time zone. Query could then convert their date range from and to dates to UTC for accurate reporting against data.
