While potentially valuable, the proposed approach provides the necessary flexibility without the complexity of a full plugin system, especially when taking in consideration the tight coupling between Superset and SQL/SQLAlchemy. One thing we recently noticed is that solutions tend to vary significantly when you consider extensions up front vs introducing them later. This was the case with Client/Server MCP tools and more recently with @villebro's work on the Global Async Task Framework.
