### What was wrong On phones the navbar packed every link into a fixed 2.5rem, `overflow: hidden` horizontal strip, so links overlapped and the strip clipped the "Community" dropdown, tapping it opened nothing. The `<nav>` also lacked the literal `navbar` class, so Bootstrap's dropdown JS did not recognize it as a navbar and kept Popper floating the submenu over the items below it. ### What changed - The navbar now collapses behind a hamburger toggle below the `lg` breakpoint (`.td-navbar` extends `.navbar-expand-lg` instead of `.navbar-expand`); at `lg` and up it stays the normal horizontal bar. - Added a `.navbar-toggler` button that toggles the `#main_navbar` container via Bootstrap collapse; that container is now `.collapse.navbar-collapse`. - Added the literal `navbar` class to the `<nav>` so Bootstrap detects it as a navbar and disables Popper inside it, letting CSS position submenus: inline (static) below `lg`, absolute at `lg` and up. - Below `lg` the collapsed menu is a full-width vertical stack of large, tappable rows; submenus (Community, ASF) expand inline and push the rows below them down. ### How to test - Run the site locally: `hugo -e dev serve` (or `npm run serve`), open `http://localhost:1313/`. - In Chrome DevTools device mode at an iPhone width (or on a real phone), confirm the hamburger appears, opens a full-width menu, and tapping "Community" expands its items inline and slides the rows below it down (no overlap, no clipped popup). - At desktop width (>= 992px), confirm the navbar is unchanged: horizontal bar with normal dropdowns. - I verified it builds with no SCSS errors and that the compiled CSS/HTML carry the expected classes, but I did not visually confirm the animation on a real device. ### AI assistance Authored with assistance from Claude. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
