It's probably worth pointing out that the policies themselves (as of the above
time) are pretty contradictory:

mds may be provided, but md5/sha1 shouldn't be provided... except mds files
(generated by GPG) have md5 and sha1 in them. announce@ generally enforces
"the md5 shouldn't" as a "mustn't."
It's just better to avoid the whole thing.
