Outstanding! Assuming this mail makes it to the list, I can confirm that it works well for me! Although I will have to find and dust off an old .muttrc... I had to tweak your use of notmuch_database_find_message (I'm using 0.11_rc2) but otherwise it compiles fine. Thanks so much for this. Is the intent that this remains a fork, or will it find its way back into upstream?
