Looking over your dmesg, it looks like there's a link-training
failure, but otherwise everything is fine. I presume the internal
display is eDP, and so that roughly translates to screen remains off.

Could you try 3.18-rc2 to make sure that the issue isn't already
fixed, and if not, try bisecting?
