To make a correction the "Break the Chains" song in the list is
actually "The Chain" (Fleetwood Mac cover). Thnx to everyone who
id'ed it for me. :)

<Moderator: That is ok, I appreciate that you at least posted it here :-D

Here's my review of the Butter show... feel free to correct any
mistakes on the set list, etc.

Show started at approx 1 a.m., ending at 3:50 a.m.

Venue was VERY SMALL. No stage/raised platform. Seemed like about
125 members in the NPG line (def no more than 150 in the joint).
Celebs in attendance included Nas, Kelis, Jay Z, Beyonce, P. Diddy,
Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, Stephen Hill (BET Dir of Programming),
?uestlove.

Let me say this tho, Prince & co. had to see that were it NOT for the
NPG Members who were there, the party would have been DEAD. With few
exceptions the celebs spent their time text message each other and
their friends, talking, and just basking in the "status" of being a
VIP at a private exclusive Prince party. The only energy from
the audience was brought by the NPGMC members!!

Here's the set list as I remember it.

Peach
Te Amo Corazon
Forever In My Life
Everyday People (Sly & Family Stone cover)
The Ride
Never Loved A Man (Aretha Franklin cover / Tamar on vox)
Love Changes (Mel'isa Morgan & Kashif cover / Tamar on vox)
Break the Chains (new song?)
Come Together (Beatles cover / Tamar & Prince on vox)
When A Man Loves A Woman (Percy Sledge cover / Tamar on vox)
Red Headed Stepchild (Tamar)
Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin) (Sly & Family Stone cover /
Tamar & Prince on vox)
Play That Funky Music (White Boy) (Wild Cherry cover / BET Director of
Programming Stephen Hill guest on vox)
Partyman

3121
Lolita
Satisfied
Black Sweat (Prince on keys & vox)
Kiss
Joy in Repetition (with Tamar song? interpolated)
Anotherloverholenyohead
If I Was Your Girlfriend
Ecstacy (Barry White cover) jam with Be Happy, The Bird (Mary J. Blige
cover / Tamar & Prince on vox, ?uestlove on drums)

Some notes:

Personnel: Prince, Tamar, Morris, Josh, Cora, Ray (trumpet), Greg
(trumbone), ?uestlove (guest on drums), Stephen Hill (guest on vox).

There were some "undertaker" moments where Prince just went CRAZY with
the guitar. All the songs were performed in their entirety, or event
in extended jams. The 3121 material sounds AMAZING live. Prince's
reinvention of some of the classics--esp Anotherlover... is a guitar
playing frenzy--it's almost heavy metal what he was doing to that
song. He was in a very playful mood, the sound / acoustics were
amazing, his vocals were in tip top shape (some of his best vocal work
in terms of range, sustain, and timbre, in a long time), he even
danced around a bit. Because there was no stage or raised platform,
this was truly a LISTENING experience more than a visual one, and it
was a great show.
