Aaahhh, the "Emancipation" glitch. You've heard of it, then?
In celebration of this RIAA certification, everyone who purchased a
copy of 3121 should get in at Vegas for FREE. Because there's no
greater sign of dedication from a fan than a purchase of 3121. I will
no longer accept anything other than front row seating at shows. I
will show my copies of 3121 and New Power Soul at the door from now
on, and will expect to be escorted to the front.
<Moderator: Actually I was talkin' about 3121 when NPGMC reported in a
flash video that 1 million copies were sold.
The Emancipation glitch was actually a nice loop hole. I wrote a blog
about it once called Shenanigans. The RIAA counts every CD in your album
towards its award status even though its part of 1 album. So if you album
is 3 CDs long it counts as 3 seperate CDs not 1 album.
So if your CD includes 3 CD and you actually sold 250,000 copies, the
RIAA will actually count it as 750,000 and awards you Gold Status for your
album.
Fun fact: Emancipation went Gold and Platinum on the same day according to
the RIAA. 1 month later it went Platinum x 2 -Derek>
