The Purple Rain hitmaker was set to follow Michael Jackson, Sir Paul MCCartney and the Rolling Stones, who have all made guest appearance on the animated hit. But pulled out of the show at the very last minute. Groening tells the New York Daily News, "Prince wanted to do the show, so we wrote him a script.
