I am sorry to bother you but I am having the same problem as you in installing ns-2 (http://mailman.isi.edu/pipermail/ns-users/2007-February/058898.html; The subject of the mail was: urgent : problem in installing ns2). I am using Fedora Sig version for Linux and trying to install ns-2.30. I searched the mailing list but found no answer.
