Hi,
I'll start with the last question first. A lot of the
patches supplied for NS-2 are for specific versions
and don't patch cleanly against the most recent
version. I'm currently working on a project that uses
various low-to-medium bandwidth links and need some of
the patches out there. I'm forward-porting what I can,
but without detailed familiarity with the internals, I
can't be 100% certain the porting is correct. Is there
a guide on how to do this? Or, since I can't be the
only one in this situation, is there a site where I
can obtain updated patches?
Now onto bidirectional links. I have been asked to
simulate a network in which the total bandwidth (up
plus down) is a constant, but how it is divided is
variable. I don't know of any pre-existing element
that has this characteristic. Is this something I will
need to define as a patch, or is there something I've
missed I can reuse?
Last, but not least, the problem space includes a
wireless mobile component which may be received by
multiple locations. There's a fair bit more on the
backend, but I think I have that part covered. The
part I'm unsure on is how to transition between
receivers. Suggestions on how to do this would be
welcome.
