[ns] How to edit and recompile ns2 source code in Ubuntu 12.04, no package of ns2 is available

Hi All,
         Can anyone please tell me where is the ns2 package in Ubuntu 12.04
??
Unlike old versions of Ubuntu where we were installing ns2 by downloading
the na-allinone package, but here I installed by using three commands only.
i.e.


   - sudo apt-get install ns2


   - sudo apt-get install nam


   - sudo apt-get install xgraph

So can't I cahnge the source code and recompile ns2 here in Ubuntu 12.04 ??
 ...
