Generally you will get an inferior ns2 validate result from any 64bits Linux OS. Some ns2 versions / some patching will not work on a 64bits OS. A clean ns-3.35 ( No patching / modifictions ) produces a fairly OK test result with Ubuntu 12.04 - x86_64 : $ cd ns-allinone-2.35/ && export CC=gcc-4.4 CXX=g++-4.4 && ./install $ cd ns-2.35/ && ./validate Result : validate overall report: some tests failed: ./test-all-newreno ./test-all-tcpOptions ./test-all-tcpVariants ./test-all-aimd ./test-all-frto ./test-all-quickstart ./test-all-manual-routing ./test-all-links ** "test-all-* :These are group tests. There are some ~200 group tests that run the ~2000 tests. **** Unless you are using scientific software that require 64bits, the recommended Ubuntu is always a 32bits OS. - -- View this message in context: http://network-simulator-ns-2.7690.n7.nabble.com/ns2-35-and-Ubuntu-64-bit-tp27534p27535.html Sent from the ns-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
