Can you Explore the new device from within ActiveSync?

If so, the next step might be to copy the CAB file to the device and run
it there. To get the CAB file, go into Tools...Options...Installer and
turn on the option "Retain CAB file". Compile again and the CAB file
will be in your working directory.
