Bill was a wonderfully cheery fellow. At my first competition at Alnwick (1970 Confined Class!) the judges & committee emerged from the dinner (at the pub) hours late and the piping competitions didn't start till after 10pm. He couldn't at all understand why the competitors were only partially happy with the situation. He remained calm and merry throughout. Those were the days! As aye Anthony
