Further to the discussion earlier in the autumn. I stated that the tune in the BL recordings identified as "The Bride's Favourite" did not occur anywhere else, to my knowledge.
I'm currently going through all the recordings I have, and have discovered tunes listed as "The Wise Maid" and "Fasten the Leg in Her", which are actually "The Bride's Favourite". I wasn't in a position to query given titles in 1997, and also there wasn't a vast archive on the web to compare with. Nor was there a slower-downer - I take my hat off to those who managed to transcribe some of Billy's tunes accurately without it!! Conversely I'm also unearthing some interesting deviations. All of which are material for the "second edition" - a tunebook sized collection of about 100 tunes.
