I can't give you an answer but this particular malapropism (specifically a "mondegreen") reminds me immediately of Carlos Sorin's heart-warming film "Bombón: El Perro", in which a misunderstanding of the words "Le Chien" plays a significant role in the plot. Anyone else seen it? It's the sort of film that will almost certainly have been on Channel 4. Lovely film!
