Hi Richard,
I think "Cut and Dry Dolly" is named for the celebration of the last
cut of corn/grain/hay, whatever it was.
Here's an abc of the tune as given in Bruce and Stokoe's
"Northumbrian Minstrelsy":

X:1

T:Cut and Dry Dolly

M:2/4

L:1/8

R:Reel

S:Bruce & Stokoe - Northumbrian Minstrelsy (1882)

Z:AK/Fiddler's Companion

K:G

There are also variations for it the NPS Repertoire of Variation Sets
book - copies are still available from the NPS.

Cheers,

Richard
