You have been subscribed to a public bug: I upgraded fairly smoothly from Jaunty to Karmic earlier today, but I just ran in a very strange issue. I got a message reporting there is low free space. My root is a 15gb partition and right after the update, it was 70% full. Right now I am getting:
na...@serre:~$ df Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/sda5 14413312 13680084 1068 100% / ... According to Boabab (disk usage analyzer) and du, the total size of files on / is 8.8gb. I thought the issue is the reserved blocks, so I ran 'sudo tune2fs -m 5 /dev/sda5', restarted, fsck-ed, but nothing seems to help. I did not notice anything particular when the issue occurred. Here is a little more detailed information regarding my root partition: na...@serre:/$ sudo tune2fs -l /dev/sda3 tune2fs 1.41.8 (11-July-2009) tune2fs: Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/sda3 Couldn't find valid filesystem superblock. na...@serre:/$ sudo tune2fs -l /dev/sda5 tune2fs 1.41.8 (11-July-2009) Filesystem volume name: <none> Last mounted on: <not available> Filesystem UUID: 04f3cff6-f628-4a0a-ac8b-94959b6a5327 Filesystem magic number: 0xEF53 Filesystem revision #: 1 (dynamic) Filesystem features: has_journal resize_inode dir_index filetype needs_recovery sparse_super large_file Filesystem flags: signed_directory_hash Default mount options: (none) Filesystem state: clean Errors behavior: Continue Filesystem OS type: Linux Inode count: 1831424 Block count: 3660804 Reserved block count: 183040 Free blocks: 183306 Free inodes: 1469882 First block: 0 Block size: 4096 Fragment size: 4096 Reserved GDT blocks: 893 Blocks per group: 32768 Fragments per group: 32768 Inodes per group: 16352 Inode blocks per group: 511 Filesystem created: Sat Sep 15 21:19:53 2007 Last mount time: Fri Jul 24 22:33:33 2009 Last write time: Fri Jul 24 22:33:33 2009 Mount count: 1 Maximum mount count: 21 Last checked: Fri Jul 24 22:30:05 2009 Check interval: 15552000 (6 months) Next check after: Wed Jan 20 21:30:05 2010 Reserved blocks uid: 0 (user root) Reserved blocks gid: 0 (group root) First inode: 11 Inode size: 128 Journal inode: 8 Default directory hash: tea Directory Hash Seed: fd9a853a-37c9-49b8-8bfb-53e4bb9735f0 Journal backup: inode blocks I would greatly appreciate a timely response. ** Affects: sbackup (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Free space is not updating in Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/404443 You received this bug notification because you are a member of NSsbackup team, which is subscribed to sbackup in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~nssbackup-team Post to : nssbackup-team@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~nssbackup-team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
