I tried to reproduce using the same config as you and I didn't succeed
(with the development version).

Can uninstall nssbackup deb package, update the branch and reinstall
nssbackup ?

To update the branch, go to the branch directory (that you created in
comment #7 ) and launch :

bzr pull

then do

make
sudo make reinstall
