Etherpeek is a fairly decent one, and I believe it has a 30 day demo. http://www.wildpackets.com/products/etherpeek Thanks, Sincerely Tim Rutherford [EMAIL PROTECTED] (508) 240-0051 (v.) The NIC cards are SMC EZ 10/100 1255TXs. I have a half dozen installed in different machines with no problems. I thought about the cable and have already replaced it. The switch is fine -- all other ports work great. I have moved the servers to different ports on the switch and the same problem comes up. Packet tracing shows that every packet from the client hits the servers successfully. I am 99% sure it is not a connectivity issue because the problem is not intermittent, per se. That is, if the same client copies the same files the copy always fails (with a timeout / network busy error) in the exact same place. Any thoughts on how software might cause this issue? Is there any other tool that anyone knows of that might help me track down exactly what is happening and why? --Josiah Gordon -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Hilary Cotter Sent: Thursday, January 10, 2002 1:07 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Network Busy Errors and File Corruption I would check your NIC cards.
