Has anyone had a problem with formatting a drive with mkntfs while mounted using NTFS-3G and then hooking the drive up to a Windows machine? I've tried it a couple of times over the past 3 days and the Windows (XP-SP2) machine doesn't recognize the formatted partition.
I have version 1.417 of NTFS-3G and version 1.13.1 of mkntfs. I just installed both of these this week. I can connect a Windows-formatted NTFS drive to my Linux machine and use it just fine with NTFS-3G. I can copy files to it and then take it back to the Windows machine and it will read the files without a problem. But I cannot do the same with the disk drive that was formatted with mkntfs and NTFS-3G. Has anyone else tried this? Any suggestions on what I can try in either tool to get this to work?? Thanks! -Russell P.S. I posted this on the NTFS-3G support forum as well. If/When I get it figured out I'll post the answer there too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
