Seagate FreeAgent Desktop drives like to randomly power down what none of the file systems like very much. There were several improvements added which enable volumes to be mounted in your error situation. Upgrade to the latest release (see: http://ntfs-3g.org/releases.html) and I'm sure you will be able to mount.
