It looks like this is also a Large File Support (LFS) bug in Thunderbird. If it weren't so then people would submit LFS bug reports with other softwares too. Large file support is one of the main reasons people don't use FAT anymore and migrate to NTFS-3G. Btw, your driver is old: http://ntfs-3g.org/releases.html Though, regarding to your problem, it shouldn't matter.
