I tried with the provided test version. However the data does not get
written out to the filesystem.

To confirm that the correct version is installed:
# ntfs-3g -v
ntfs-3g: No device is specified.
ntfs-3g 2010.8.8AA.2 integrated FUSE 27 - Third Generation NTFS Driver
                Configuration type 1, XATTRS are on, POSIX ACLS are off

I have added fflush call as suggested with no luck.
