Dear All,
I have a Seagate GoFlex 1TB drive,
all of which is formatted as ntfs.

I connected it to usb, and mounted it (on /sdd1)
I then
tar -cf - /sdd1 | xz -c -9 > /sdb5/backup/goflex1tb/sdd1.tar.xz

After some time (not sure how long - I had left it running all
night long), tar had belched out thousands of messages like

...... Read error at byte 0, while reading 4096 bytes: Input/output error
and
..... File removed before we read it

Then I booted into windows vista, and tried to do a simple backup
from the 1TB drive (K:) to (I:)
It only hickup'ed on 2 files, which were corrupted. All rest of files
were copied without incident.

So, I am wondering if this is a USB hardware issue, or USB Driver issue
or ntfs-3g issue?

PS: I am on fc16, with ntfs-3g-2011.4.12-5.fc16.i686
and kernel-3.3.8-1.fc16.i686

P.S: The problematic copy under fedora is repeatable.
