Just a followup: Usually I post the link to the other thread, so the mailing list postings are cross referenced (in case another person with the same problem runs into the issue). However, with the case of TrueCrypt, this is different: I post this followup only to state that I have not and will not file a bug report against TrueCrypt. They don't have a mailing list, only have a user-to-user forum (unhelpful, requires registration for even reading rights) and an extremely opaque "bug reporting" form, which presumably goes into a hidden bugtracker (naturally not open for public viewing). There is no way for me to see what happens once I report a bug nor any way to determine if it's even going to be looked at. Since I refuse to participate in a process so fundamentally opaque, I've decided that I'll ditch TrueCrypt altogether.
